Bruno Mitre's painting hides more that it reveal. There is no literacy in its representation. According to Ferreira Gullar, "painting is, among other things, reorder nature; translate it to another dimension, more consistent, more permanent". Bruno's cities are ordered and represented from urban fragments.

Dear Dr. Mitre,

I am the curator of art exhibitions of the Art Foundation of Ouro Preto, I was delighted with the work of your son, Bruno Mitre. I see a maturity in their work, strong and expressive. The work makes clear his personality. It presents us with strong colors that explode from the screens, on the other hand, one sees a golden'' 'clean'', marked by lines that traverse the universe in a metropolitan city, confusing and overwhelming. It seems paradoxical, but it is not, its deconstruction removes any excess of the daily life of a big city with their cars, their run, the lack of time and forces you to think that this world is, what city is this, that consumes me and the same time I miss.

– A whole lot of wreckage: isn't it what we, post-moderns, wanted?
By Gerald Thomas - 2001.

"London | What are we complaining? When I look out the window here in Belsize Park, all I see is green, plants and I don't hear any automobile noise, for I live in a villa where cars don't go through. But this utopia seems ridiculous to me, I miss my last address. It was a business address: Kent Avenue, in Williamsburg, that avenue with the trucks rolling by and the piles of garbage by the edge of the East River. That's where I saw the World Trade Center attack. That's where I saw the towers fall. And that was where, in Ground Zero, that I serviced as a volunteer, the next 21 following days, in between those piles of concrete, remains of human disgrace and political asterisk, that I lived covered in toxic dust watching the most horrendous things.

The artist residency stands out today as an institution important role for the support, promotion and development of artistic practices, and it is possible to identify the origin of this contemporary manifestation, and their proliferation in all parts of the world, from the 1990s. In this sense, the current situation of households is changing at a dizzying scale and its relevance as an instrument of work in the arts means that this phenomenon is studied from different perspectives on the process of integration and its potential, which means understanding the importance of these forms of action in the field of artistic production. The growing number of households on a global scale - not planned, but the result of the conditions and needs of professionals and institutions - led to the need to organize, identify proposals and disseminate them, emerging this context the creation of networks related to them.

Contrary to the predictable, Bruno Mitre has the concept in his work deconstructionism. With visuality of the future and a unique artistic expression, the artist can produce awidely between materiality playful shape distortion and intuition plastic.

His resistance is quiet and purposeful course, making his work to penetrate the space, trying to unravel the mystery that presides over its metamorphoses.
Among a vast inventory of materials and a large repertoire of shapes and colors, the composition of their work adds to the reason for us to generate a geometric abstract language, without theoretical or revenue orthodox rule. His majestic deconstruction does not eliminate the structural material, nor the bold color that involves the viewer as a webready to catch their prey.

Boldly expressive and confidently assertive, the art of Brazilian artist Bruno Mitre joins together a fragmented geometry of line and form with an atmospheric use of color in a linear abstraction of the urban landscape. Inspired by the Deconstructionist movement and crossing divides of language and culture, Mitre’s art creates a visual exchange between art, architecture and literature as he paints a metropolis of the mind in a powerful vision of contemporary society. Mitre builds his mixed media works in a variety of mediums, fluidly combining acrylic and watercolor paints, charcoal, pen, and oil pastel with a mark that might be anything from softly loose and flowing or tightly drawn and angular.

Bruno Mitre’s art has received widespread attention in his native Brazil through numerous solo and group exhibits, including works held in the collection of the Palácio das Mangabeiras and the Palácio da Liberdade, where he also serves as curator. In addition to his career in fine art, Mitre has earned degrees in both Architecture and Urbanism, and specializes in the conservation and restoration of historical sites and monuments.

Strong colors, clear lines and bold geometric shapes define the characteristics of the art works of artist Bruno Mitre. He presents the exhibition "Air cubes Transfigured" which can be visited until May 7, in the PIC City Gallery (Claudio Manoel, 1185 , Employees), in Belo Horizonte (MG), with free admission.

In 14 paintings presented in the exhibition, the artist focuses on acrylic paint and charcoal on canvas, creating a set of moods and textures that create the feeling of a lively conversation between the various aspects of each image. Finely drawn lines contrast with impressive broad strokes and color combinations give each piece a vibrant energy surface.
