The artist residency stands out today as an institution important role for the support, promotion and development of artistic practices, and it is possible to identify the origin of this contemporary manifestation, and their proliferation in all parts of the world, from the 1990s. In this sense, the current situation of households is changing at a dizzying scale and its relevance as an instrument of work in the arts means that this phenomenon is studied from different perspectives on the process of integration and its potential, which means understanding the importance of these forms of action in the field of artistic production. The growing number of households on a global scale - not planned, but the result of the conditions and needs of professionals and institutions - led to the need to organize, identify proposals and disseminate them, emerging this context the creation of networks related to them. The mix of residences, which becomes more evident from the early 1990s, allowed the development of networks like Resartis, the Alliance of Artists Communities AAC, becoming, thus, in one of the most agile and fast access to information on residencies and residency programs on a global scale. Among the most distinctive and various proposals for projects and residency programs have existed for some exemplary cases to be seen less as a paradigm, rather than as opportunities for understanding the range of needs that the general framework of production offers, their difficulties and therefore their needs to continue to have alternative ways of development of research and artistic action. The artistic residencies can be identified as specific areas of artistic creation, which become places of trade and recognition, in which artists / creators, with their work / interventions recover the complexity and diversity, the meaning and value of the relationship between art and life. Thus, it is necessary to think about these processes of creation in displacement, as a contemporary production, in which concepts such as participation, exchange and collective life become fundamental parts of a strategy of acting as a mechanism for collaboration with the local art scene and also as a means of energizing and circulation of information and knowledge. The residence is in this perspective, an instrument of transformation by promoting the establishment of wider relations than those offered in the academic environment, and also in certain circuits work, while allowing to point out some of the conflicts and contradictions the relationship between art and its spaces, including training, such as school. Thus, the function assigned to households, especially in this particular case, allows them to focus on educational space in which they operate changes to all aspects and subjects involved. In comparison of the materiality of space offered by residences with the lines of its residents, there is the awakening, stimulate and coordinate the different memories in space that educates and transforms. The action is proposed to create the Art Residency FAAP, and from it, seek mechanisms that could participate in this process can be seen also as an 'educational experience'. The operation of learning from experience in the construction of a social space that expands the horizons of understanding of art and relationships that constitute the apprehension and processing of knowledge, was just released. Its activities in the course of five years from the initial design and the desire to 'live together' allow a glimpse into the complexity and length of the field to be worked and explored. An examination of information about residents, projects and activities can provide some perspective on the extent mentioned above. Since the beginning of its activities, the residence received nearly a hundred farmers of various nationalities, from different geographical and cultural backgrounds, with references from multiple perspectives, and that these artists could collaborate with the 'university' and the community in different modalities in free and open programs, or process-oriented work and creation, individual processes and collective processes, including participatory activities, the community in creative processes. In the Art Residency Program offers FAAP is also essential to consider expanding the limits of performance artists in the possibility of access to the workspace, such as workshops, studios, laboratories, studios and all the facilities of the Faculty of Fine Arts, that can facilitate the process of creating and working; still allowing access to information and specialized technical personnel, so in a meaningful action that expands the collaboration patterns of disposal site for accommodation and lodging. Residence FAAP artistic aims, too, and effectively, to enter the city on an international circuit ever wider and interconnected by actions aimed at discussion and reflection on the possibilities of collaboration and participation in the arts, but is intended on the other side to enter the artist in the city, and a relative specificity of place, while offering you the environment central Sao Paulo, allowing you to live and experience this diversity of situations, events and relationships that the region provides, and that there is only there, this joint. Its insertion in the urban environment therefore provides a consistent relationship with the processes of discussion and reflection on the city. An artist residency program can be thought of as a way to respond to a contemporary symptom of isolation. And from the experience of collective life, the terms of trade are potentially able to devise proposals for a new season, becoming just as able to live together, the relevant point for the discussion of artistic residencies and made discussions, proposals and reflections of the 27th Bienal de São Paulo, but still marked the beginning of a new phase of the program of FAAP's Artistic Residence, and his sense of togetherness and common life. The need to seek ways to experience - and experience - the world can explain this interest and need for contemporary artists seek homes in a world marked by mobility, globalization and the affirmation of the site as a form of firmação this now permanent transience. The exhibition proposes a reflection on all this potential the artist residency, as a training environment, production and distribution of art through the presentation of a diverse range of references to the projects developed by the creators that during the initial five years activities - from 2005 to 2010 - lived in the Artistic Residence FAAP.
