BRUNO MITRE

Bruno Guimarães Carvalho Mitre

Bruno is a Brazilian artist who started his qualification in Art when he was still a child, time he was already visiting exhibition and attending free courses.
During his career as a student, his works have been selected for exhibitions. From 2005 on he has participated in collective and individual exhibitions and has been awarded a prize.
Parallel to his Art formation he has graduated in Architecture and Urbanism.
After that, he has specialized in the conservation and the restoration of monuments and historical complexes.
Bruno’s work is based on the theory proposed by the deconstructivist movement, which is frequently associated to the post-modernism and the post-structuralism, and had its principles influenced by the ideas of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida (1930-2004) and by the architects Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas, Coop Himmelblau, Eisenman and Zaha Hadid.  Promoting an interchange of arts and architecture, the movement also serves as an agglutinating element for drawing-painting.
Bruno has also produced and set up an itinerant exhibition and has taught painting for a voluntary program.
From 2011 to 2014 was the curator of the Palacio da Liberdade in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
In 2015 Mitre have a solo exhibition at the Pampulha Iate Clube Art Gallery in Belo Horizonte and a collective exhibition at Agora Gallery in New York, where he is represented. Won two consecutive awards in Italy, the Sandro Botticelli Prize and Rome Imperial Prize and his work was published in reputable international arts magazines, the British Aesthetica Magazine, the American ARTisSpectrum Magazine and Italian Effetto Magazine.
